Paralia at Katerini is a lively place with endless sandy beaches and shallow clear sea that stretches over five kilometers and also has a harbor suitable for small boats. The visitor enjoys the calm waters of the sea and the coast and has the opportunity to visit many other nearby areas such as wetlands, archaeological sites, traditional mountain settlements, monasteries, churches and castles.

Athletic activities are varied, from swimming, water bike, sailing and diving to paragliding and wind surfing. There are also courts for all sports. For mountain lovers Olympus and the Pieria Mountains offer enchanting routes for mountain biking, horseback riding, riverside rides with all-terrain cars and river rides.

The visitor also has the opportunity to enjoy his afternoon walk in the market to shop, the rich cultural events in the square and the nightlife.
Being the base of the beach in winter, you can visit Elatochori in the Pieria Mountains and ski in the organized ski resort, which has 2300 meters of slopes. History

Pieria (Greek: Πιερία) is one of the regional units of Greece located in the southern part of the Region of Central Macedonia, within the historical province of Macedonia. Its capital is the town of Katerini. The name Pieria originates from the ancient Pieres tribe. In Pieria, there are many sites of archeological interest, such as Dion, Pydna, Leivithra and Platamonas. Pieria is also home to Mt. Pierus from which Hermes takes flight in order to visit Calypso (Odyssey 5.50), home to Orpheus^[1] and the Muses,^[2] as well as the Pierian Spring. Mt. Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece and throne of the ancient Greek gods, is located in the southern part of Pieria. Other ancient cities included Leibethra and Pimpleia.
